ABSOLUTION OF SINS

When you request absolution for your sins, there are two things that must happen:

First, you must know in your heart that you will not do it again, and Second, you must release any and all guilt associated with whatever sin from which you are requesting absolution.

It does no good to request forgiveness for something you are going to do again tomorrow, just as it does no good to request forgiveness from something for which you are still punishing yourself.

When I was growing up, I was told that when you do something wrong, you have to do three things:

*Apologize

*Fix it to the best of your ability

*Do something extra to put the person in a better position than they would've otherwise been.

**To that, I add: Decide that you will never do it again. Let it go (i.e. forgive yourself.).
