Pastor:   The Lord be with you              Congregation:   And also with you

Baptismal Hymn

Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong.

(Refrain)  Yes, Jesus loves me!  Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know, As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on His knee, Saying, “Let them come to Me.”

Refrain

Jesus loves me still today, Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give. Light and love to all who live.

Refrain

Pastor:  Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

Congregation:  It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Pastor: Almighty God, we give you thanks. For, in the beginning your Spirit moved over the waters and you created heaven and earth.  By the gift of water you nourish and sustain us and all living things.

Pour out your Holy Spirit, so that this child in the Sacrament of Baptism may be given new life, cleansed by this water.

To you be given praise and honor and worship through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever.

The Holy Scripture

Pastor:  Galatians 3: 27-29  For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Music

Pastor:             I ask you to profess your faith in Christ Jesus and his Promise. Do you believe in God the Father?

Trent Rish Volker:        I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

Pastor:             Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?

Tent Rish Volker:          I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.  He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended into hell.  On the third day he rose again.  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Pastor:             Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit?

Trent Rish Volker:        I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communication of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
