Lesson 13

To understand marriage and divorce we must first understand God's design. In 1Jn4:16, it says that God is love. Paul directs us in 1Cor16:14 to "Do everything in love."(NIV Study Bible). The defination of love is given in 1Cor13:4-13. If we apply these principals to marriage as God directs in 1Cor7:27-28, in order to prevent an immoral Christian life, then divorce should be unavoidable. Mk10:10-12 teaches that we are not to divorce. However, Jesus does give an allowance for divorce in Mk10:4. This would indicate that divorce is wrong and is a sin. Then 1Jn1:9 does present that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us of ou sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."(NIV Study Bible).

Lesson 12

In regarding this subject, we must consider Ro3:23, which says that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. The Bible also says that we should flee from immorality, and to honor God with our body (1Co6:18-20), for our body is a member of Christ himself (1Co6:15). It further states, in 1Co6:10, that those of immorality will not inherit the kingdom of God. We are to behave decently (Ro13:13), and not do what the pagens of the past chose to do (1Pe4:3). The acts of a sinful nature are described in Gal5:21. However it is our obligation to not turn away a sinner. Jas5:19-20 (NIV Study Bible) says: "(19) My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and should bring him back, (20) remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins."

Lesson 14

I couldn't agree with you more on this topic. A sound personality should be found in every capable minister. The goal must be for the bettering of ones Christian faith. It is true that feelings lead to doings and that reveals the true nature of the individual. If one is more like the biblical Jesus, then his thoughts ought to be the thoughts of Jesus and Jesus' actions as well. We must put aside the self in order to become more Christ like. We must do as he did. Everyone gets angry from time to time, but it is that defining moment when one chooses to act upon his current emotions that the true character is displayed, we must not forget the words of Christ and apply them to our everyday life. In counseling our Christian brothers and sisters, we must remember also to refer them to someone more skilled in developing good habits for them, as the Christian minister can do only so much.

Lesson 12

This lesson had us doing exercises through movement. I do an exercise were I sit outside and list to the birds and other sounds. I have bird feeders out and the birds come to feed. I is not as safe as I thought it was. We have a falcon that hurts and he come by and tries to a bird. During the day I'll look out at the feeders to see how many birds or what kind of birds are feeding. Now and then I'll look and see no birds. Then I will see the falcon and I know the birds are hidding. One day I saw the falcon go into the bushes after a bird and came up empty. What do is I'll go outside and sit out of the way so that the birds continue to feed and I'll watch and listen to the sounds of the birds. Sometimes the birds will not or should I say that I do not a danger sound. Then I'll see the falcon. But now and then if I close my eyes and listen I'll he the danger sound and the bird flee. I also listen to the sound of the birds movement how they are moving about on the ground eating. the birds are aware of their environment. They know when danger is around and when it not.
Blessings to all!!!

Lesson I

Describing the basic difference between translation vs paraphrase is about learning a new language and correctly articulating the langauge in its proper form. Learning a new language, reading the bible is about having a decipher for understanding the key components and or phrases. Translation is about getting to true essence of what is being said on paper or verbage. paraphrase is about learning a new language or reading a passage and recapping the essence or gist of what is the plot or summarizing the importance of the story.

The Bible is presented as collection of words and thoughts of how man lived and died for the sake of following God's commandments. Knowing this, The "Bible" has been revamped to show or tell a new version of how man followed, failed, became lost and was reborn under the Lord's conception.

Lesson 11

The Church is referenced as the bride of Christ numerous times in the Bible. Therefore we are obligated, as Christians, to support the Church. Christ gives an example of tithing in Lk18:12. In 2Cor8:7, and 9:6-8, it says you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. Marriage is addressed many times in the Bible. It is addressed in Mt19:4-6, and what is also addressed, in Mt19:7-9, is that of divorce, which teaches against divorce. I could not find any direct reference to abortion in the Bible. However, if it is considered to be the taking of a life, then it would be wrong. Even though I believe that a child is a gift from God, some do not believe that it is a human life until it is born. An example would be that of a fertilized chicken egg as not being a chicken until it is hatched. I do fee that abortion is a rejection of God's gift to those parents, and to the world.

Lesson 13

Their are many faces of divorce, one of which are the children involved. More often than not the impact on the children involved seems to have little relevancy with most parents getting a divorce. However, this does not imply that one needs to remain in an abusive marriage, rather, consider not only your own welfare, but the welfare of your children and your spouse as well. I agree that a couple thinking of marriage should look at future plans together to see if they should get married. Just as marriage shouldn't be rushed into, it shouldn't be rushed out of either. A marriage worth doing is a marriage worth saving. Though Divorce is a sin in the eyes of God, he provides for us another route, wether by counseling, or by divorce if the spouse has commited adultery. Sin is the motivator of all divorces, as all sin originates within the self and in a marriage, there can be no selfishness.

Lesson 11

We get raised with fear. The fear if we do not behave are parents will punish us. Or if you do not behave in school they will call your parents. As we get older society has a way to control us and it is through fear!. When it comes to elections they us fear to get votes. We are always bombard with fear. I beleive that fear rules the earth. If a person stops and thinks that if he /she can control fear they can live in a world with fear but can manage how they think. It is truely amazing that even Religion enstills fear to its masses. Once we can get rid of fear this world would be better off. I find through meditation I can see the truth.

Lesson 10

Your attitude is the most important aspect of worship, as it is the basis for your entire approach to worship. In Ro 15:17, it states that we are to do this for glory in God. One of the reasons for worship with other Christians is for the encouragement of one another, as presented in Heb 10:25. Acts 20:7 is an example for us to meet together on the first day of the week. The Christian is to partake in communion as directed in 1Cor 11:23-26 for the remembrance of Christ's sacrifice, of body and blood, for our salvation. In our offerings, we are to give in order to excel in the grace of giving, as directed in 2Cor 8:3-7. There are examples in 2Chr 7:3 and 20:18 for kneeling and bowing in our worship, however the main thing is for us to worship with the proper reverence. Our worship together, and socializing with each other, strengthens us as a church, as the body of Christ. A minister's attire, depending on the denomination, can cause others to come to you for spiritual guidance, which will then enhance your own ministry for God. In all aspects, the worship is to be utilized for the glory of God.

Lesson 12

Prostitution and drugs are a very real problem in our society. Christians should never look down upon these individuals as being of a lesser species, even though they are sinners according to the word of God. Addictions are another very real problem which seems to really affect the lives of all of us in some way. These people have real problems that need addressed with a loving heart. Jesus himself came not to condemn, but to forgive and to save those poor lost souls. He came not to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. That law, dear friends, is the law of love. We must learn to love and accept one another and see beyond the addictions and afflictions and see the real person and the real potential within the individual rather than to be blinded by prejudices, we must do as Jesus done, as he is our example.

Lessson 10

The lesson talks about Birth Vision. It talks about what are likes are. What makes us happy like play cross word puzzles. My like are the out doors and taking care of animals. This lesson mentions that we should take the things we like and try to use them in life. I am still trying to figure it. But what I did get from this lesson and this really opened my eyes. In the part where it says "One dose not need to "wait" to discover life purpose" there ias a sentance that reads " Look for that purpose in each day's events, and trust that you are exactly in the place you need to be"."That what is happening in this given momentis meant to be happening". When I read this part when I was taking the ferry to Seattle. This hit me and I kept reading over again and over again. This is such a true statement and so profound I had to look back at my life and with each chapter of my life I was exactly were I was suppose to be. Now when things are going on in my life now I say is "I am exactly were I am suppose to be". This helps me through rough times.
I am still looking for my "Birth Vision" but I am not worried because now I know that it will find me. It will all come together.

Blessing to all!!!

Lesson 11

I whole heartedly agree with this lesson. People should help support their local church, as they are in need of it to cover their expenses in all of the ministries they oversee. A Divorce should only be granted to the couples based on the Bibles teachings of divorce over an unfaithful partner. However, there are extinuating circumstances that a divorce should be granted upon such grounds as; fornication, abuse of any sorts and just utter and complete incompatability that counselling cannot fix. On the choice of abortion, I personally believe, through my own faith, that it is sinful. This is simply because there are always couples out there seeking adoption and would love to have someones unwanted child. I agree though that if the baby has not yet fully developed and it endangers the mothers life if she continues to carry the child to full term, that in that case it would be acceptable for her to choose to have the undeveloped child, or fetus, aborted.
